Project Details

This project aims to address the pressing need for waste management solutions in the region and capitalize on the growing demand for sustainable waste practices.

The absence of a waste sorting complex in the Irpin community has resulted in mixed waste being transported to existing landfills in the Kyiv region. With landfills facing closure nationwide, the need for effective waste management has become a critical concern. However, 30% of the Irpin population currently practices conscious garbage separation, highlighting the community’s readiness for change and support for recycling initiatives.

Irpin’s proximity to the city of Kyiv positions it as a convenient logistical hub. This strategic advantage facilitates streamlined waste transportation, creating cost-efficiency and reducing the environmental impact associated with long-distance hauling. The establishment of a modern garbage sorting complex will provide a comprehensive solution for the community, enabling organized separate garbage collection, efficient reception and sorting of waste, and the potential for revenue generation through the sale of secondary waste materials.

The Investment Council of Irpin is actively engaged in promoting negotiations with land plot owners, securing necessary municipal permits, facilitating marketing initiatives, and establishing contractual agreements with waste collection companies and municipal enterprises. This collaborative approach ensures a supportive and conducive environment for the successful implementation of the project.
